Build Your Immunity Against Pandemics by Remaining Younger Longer: Two Ways to Do So

INTRODUCTION

Don, I am often asked: When will you deal with the Covid Crisis? Does this illness have a real wellness aspect that can mitigate the risks? What are the individual and societal actions that can be taken to reduce or prevent future pandemics.

WHO, CDC and medical experts have largely ignored or barely mentioned two important approaches. Not ultraviolet light, ingesting disinfectants or bleach. My two approaches do not involve ultraviolet light, ingesting cleaning agents or other methods like those suggested by the President.

STRATEGY ONE: Athletism

The first suggestion features the REAL wellness dimension of Athleticism–exercise and nutrition. As part of an overall commitment to wellness, fitness and diet reforms can help lower the risk of one of the pandemic’s most dangerous comorbidities, namely old age.

Frailty is a comorbidity that is associated with long-term life. This is why old age is a pandemic risk. It is a wise investment to remain younger for longer, i.e. less frail.

It is dangerous to become frail too early. Everyone should strive to stay as fit as they can. Most Americans don’t realize how much is possible. No medical doctor is required. You can make it happen on your own. Do not ask the system what it can provide for you. Instead, inquire about what you can reduce the need to use the system.

Obesity, diabetes, kidney disease, and heart problems are all major risk factors for Corona infection. The foods that you consume are also a risk factor.

No matter how strict the diet or how rigorous the workout, everyone who lives long enough will become frail. It is better to delay declines until you are 80 or 90 years old, than 65 or 60. If you do it correctly, and with some luck, 80 might be the new 39. Maybe 69.

The US population is made up of 16% seniors, but COVID-19 causes 80% of deaths. The mortality rate for people who have contracted the Covid virus after the age of 80 is five times higher than the global average. At this age, there are additional risks due to neglect of care facilities and poverty.

You can take two steps to improve your health and fitness. These are not promoted in this Covid_19 epidemic year. Find a way to enjoy a favorite sport or other activity. Then, become an expert on the best plant-based, whole-food diets.

Besides, pay attention to lifestyle arts such as resilience, positivity and an active social network, involvement in the community, personal freedoms, critical thinking, and everything else that encourages euphoria, love, purpose and moments of happiness.

Strengthening your immune system now will help you in the future. As long as you can, strive to be in top form. Next pandemic will likely be even more destructive than the current one. You will enjoy your old age more and for longer if you are fortunate to reach that stage. You’ll also be able to lessen your burden on family members and the society.

STRATÉGY TWO : DO NOT EAT ANIMALS

Zoonotic diseases are viral infectious diseases that originate from animal consumption. These diseases aren’t always caused by exotic animals being consumed in markets like Wuhan, China. They can also be traced back to domestic livestock. These transmissions are a factor for measles and AIDS. Michael Greger M.D. is the author of How to Survive A Pandemic. He identifies food products made toxic in slaughterhouses that are comparable with concentration camps as being a major source of pandemics.

In what is euphemistically referred to as concentrated animal feeding operation (CAFO) or industrial scale factory farms, livestock (beef and pork), are raised, bred and then killed. In unsanitary cages thousands of animals, all genetically identical to each other, are crowded together. The extreme strain on the immune system of animals makes this a breeding ground for disease. The factory farms provide the perfect environment for viruses, pathogens and other microorganisms to mutate to become human-transmitting. It is suggested that we change our food habits to drastically reduce, or even eliminate the consumption of meats like beef, poultry and pork.

It will probably take decades, if not even generations to achieve this goal. However, a trend is already in place and it should be encouraged.

Smithfield, Cargill and Hormel are among the major animal protein producers that recognize the importance of changing current practices.

SUMMARY

A REAL wellness lifestyle will help you to strengthen your resistance against pandemics, and other misfortunes. Athleticism can help you to resist the frailties that come with aging. It is important to be in top form at any age, but (thanks George Orwell), it becomes even more valuable in your twilight. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo described the pandemic, while speaking at the Democratic National Convention virtual, as a metaphor. He suggested that the virus attack when the body weakens and cannot defend itself.

The next pandemic, even if it is more harmful than the current one, will be more devastating if you have a strong body. This includes perennials, evergreens, and trees that are incredibly long-lived.

Wishing you all the best. Good luck.
