CrossFit Pros and Cons 2019

CrossFit Positives and Negatives Debate As we near the new year, I thought that it would be good to revisit the reasons for CrossFit and the possible reasons why you might not consider Crossfit in 2019. CrossFit is a program I use and believe in, but I understand the reasons why others may not. Here I’ll give my strongest arguments in favor and against CrossFit.

Pro CrossFit Argument:
CrossFit is a collection of exercises. Strength training and calisthenics are included. These are meant to be used by the whole body, not only one part or region. They are designed as quick circuits with high intensity.

CrossFit is a workout that tests your fitness and willpower. CrossFit is usually performed at the fastest speed that your physical and mental strength will allow. The majority require balance or skill. It is important to spend the time necessary learning the routine or lift.

CrossFit is a tight-knit community. The participants are not just trying to be the best, they also want to push those around them to get into gear. You will be motivated and pushed to fitness levels you never thought possible.

CrossFit offers fitness or measurement tracking for you to track your progress. You can also compete against other members of the gym. CrossFit is a great way to stay motivated and to enjoy your workouts.

There are many tips on how to eat well or follow a Paleo Diet. CrossFit combined with a healthy diet can produce amazing results.

CrossFit Negatives
Many CrossFit opponents stress that an individual workout is more important than a group or class. All people have different fitness levels, and a particular workout may be more appropriate for one individual than another. New participants can avoid this dilemma by making sure they are taught the proper techniques and safe practices.

Beginner’s needs are rarely addressed. Every workout is designed for the whole group. Some weaknesses may not be beneficial to a particular person. CrossFit instructors are trained to minimize this as well.

Before beginning a CrossFit workout, it is important to consider any previous injuries or flexibility issues.

What I think about CrossFit and whether or not to use it:
Use common sense when exercising. Before beginning any exercise program, consult your doctor. You are likely a good candidate for CrossFit if you follow sound training and diet principles. CrossFit has transformed many overweight, unfit males and women into people they had never thought possible. This is why I hesitate when saying that one person shouldn’t be allowed to join a CrossFit facility. Why shouldn’t someone try it as long as they have good health?

You probably already guessed that I think the CrossFit benefits far outweigh any CrossFit disadvantages!
