Better Sleep With Chronic Pain

You know how chronic pain affects sleep and anxiety. They all occur together and can cause health problems such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and poor sleep.

There are many reasons for chronic pain, including injuries, illness, long-term emotional or physical stress, and social stress. Chronic pain can cause a lot of health problems, including a lack in sleep. It also affects the quality of life and is a burden if it’s not addressed.

The brain will overwork if there is no rest. Even 15-20 minutes of rest a day can be beneficial to both the brain and the body, particularly on days where stress or pain is high. Rest is calming, almost like taking a sedative.

Not only is sleep important for your body’s appearance, it also refreshes the brain, the soul and other parts of your body. Sleep is important for your health, but if you can’t sleep then don’t lose heart. Sleep is possible and you will get it, but do all you can to achieve that.

You will find it difficult to sleep if you watch TV for long periods of time, consume too much alcohol or water, and play on your laptop or phone before going to bed.

If you have chronic pain or sleep problems, it is likely that you’ll suffer the next day from negativity, depression, insecurity and hopelessness. Take heart if this occurs. You are not mentally ill. You are just tired.

Here are some tips to help you sleep better, even if you suffer from chronic pain, anxiety or both. Do as much positive, productive work during the day. List your accomplishments and check them off. Eat healthy sandwiches and meals throughout the day. Water is essential. Drink plenty of water.

Move around! If you cannot go outdoors, then walk around the house and exercise lightly. Breathe in the fresh air by going outside. You can stay out for just a few moments if the weather is bad. If the weather is cold or hot, you can soak up some sunlight by going to your nearest windows. Make sure you don’t look at the sun directly. Look only in the direction of light. This should take at least 5 minutes. You will sleep better at night if you do this.

Try to keep your day positive by keeping up with the conversations you have and doing at least two happy things. Online, you can find some humorous or beautiful things to listen to. You will be surprised at how much this can help.

Take prescribed or over-the-counter medications to relieve chronic pain. Stay in touch with the people you love. You can brighten your day and make your night more enjoyable by talking to caring friends or relatives.

Do not let anxiety and chronic pain control your day and night! Take control of your mental and physical health! It may seem like pain or anxiety is never going to go away, but they will! Do not be afraid to take action for your health. Don’t quit! Take control and do not give up. If you’re a Christian, and you believe in God then you should know that He will assist you, but only if you ask for it. Know this: Because He loves you, He will assist you.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve suffered from anxiety and chronic back pain. There have been moments when I was close to giving up. At this stage in my life I am determined to not give up. Life is precious, and I want it to be as enjoyable as possible.

Take heart. You will definitely sleep better and feel less anxious if you follow the tips above. The life is too short. The days of our life are like those words from “Days of our Lives “…”: “Like the sands of an hourglass, the days of our own lives.”
